Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

The ideal candidate will have sound intellectual skills evidenced by a strong academic background and will have experience in an accountancy, financial services, or family office environment.

Developed accounting knowledge is required, particularly as some of the structures and entities that they will be accounting for are large and very complex, and will need to be comfortable dealing with detailed financial information.

There will be a requirement to maintain accounting records, reconcile bank accounts and prepare accurate and timely accounts up to Trial Balance in accordance with relevant accounting standards; prepare tax returns for individuals as appropriate, maintain loan, interest, income and expense schedules; and provide information to, and liaise with, accountants, auditors and other third parties in a professional manner.

There will also be a requirement to be involved in administrative tasks relating to the structures under management including liaison with fiduciary staff.

Other tasks that the individual will need to take responsibility for in this family office include: running payroll for employees of family members (including liaison with Department of Employment and Tax office on employment registration and any licences and permits); managing petty cash; banking tasks including making online payments using EQ, and undertaking any tasks necessary to ensure the smooth running of the office.

There will also be a requirement to assist family members with ad hoc queries and tasks as required.

We are keen to hear from candidates with a range of qualification levels e.g. AAT with significant experience, full/part ACCA or qualified by experience (minimum 5 years). It is essential that candidates are fully conversant with computerised accounting systems (currently Quick Books is used) and can demonstrate a developed knowledge of spreadsheet applications - advanced knowledge of MS Office suite including Excel is essential. The payroll software currently used is WINPAY.

This is a standalone role so we are looking for a self-motivated individual who is able to (and enjoys) working autonomously and can organise themselves to manage the workload, prioritise effectively and meet all relevant accounting, statutory and other deadlines.
